The location
The Charles Bradlaugh is located in the Mounts, Northampton, in a beautiful building that was a former Shoe Factory. It was very tastefully converted in to the highly respected establishment that it is today.
Being located just away from the centre, it does not attract any of the rowdy weekend trade and it is always a safe place for business meetings, Coffee or drinks.
The Venue
Top quality Gastropub in Northampton Town Centre. Located just alongside the Chronicle And Echo building, The Charles Bradlaugh has it’s own secure carpark, beer garden and disabled access.
The historical character, Charles Bradlaugh was an atheist, pro feminist social reformer who represented Northampton as it’s Liberal MP. As a teetotaller, he may have been rather bemused to know that over a hundred years later, a vibrant pub was opened in his name.
The pub is well known in the area for it’s well stocked drinks and good service. Food is served promptly and covers a wide menu – veggies are well catered for.
The Charles Bradlaugh is ideal for large groups. Seating areas can be reserved, including the downstairs ‘pit’ which comfortably seats 30, and the separate upstairs bar is open from 8 on Fridays and Saturdays.
Food & Drink
The Pub offers a good choice of both alcohol and beverages. There is a good selection of Burgers, Panini’s, Jacket Potatoes, Salads and desserts. It’s not looking to be a formal restaurant, but for casual meals, it is a lovely environment.
